Message to parents
Bienvenue! Welcome to 2 Chopin - Gamble!
We will be posting materials and suggestions for learning activities you can use at home as well as links to favourite apps and websites you may find helpful in the coming weeks.
Please remember that the expectation is NOT that you recreate a classroom in your home. Families of students in K-2 are being asked to aim for an hour (combined) of literacy and numeracy activities as well as 30 minutes of reading and 30 minutes of physical activity (when possible).
We fully understand that this will look different in every home and that you will all do the best you can given the circumstances. Some days you may do less and some days more, depending on your own at-home work schedule and the needs of the other members of your family including younger and older siblings. That being said, this time does not have to be all at once. You can break up tasks into smaller chunks of time that fit within your own schedule.
Most importantly, we want you to remember to not feel guilty. Our own mental and emotional well being as well as that of our children is of the utmost importance right now. Some of you will be dealing with a whole lot of added stress. If you're having a moment (or a day), take a break (it won't hurt the kids!). Do a little extra physical activity as a family, get outside and get some fresh air. Maintain connections with friends and family virtually when it all gets to be too much.
We each have office hours: Mme. Chopin on Wednesday 5-6PM and Thursday 1-3PM and Mme. Gamble on Monday 1-3PM. During this time we will be available to answer phone calls, video calls, emails, DOJO messages from you or your child as quickly as possible. You can still send us a message by email or DOJO outside of those times it may take a little bit longer to reply. Feel free to contact either one of us, we view our class as one big family and would love to talk to all of our students!
